Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Active unencumbered CRNA Texas state license
- Graduate from a fully accredited CRNA program
- One year of work experience as CRNA
- One year of EMR experience
- Board Certified

- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
Requirements:

Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia care in accordance with state licensure, federal regulations, and VA policies. \n
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations, formulate anesthesia plans, administer anesthesia (general, regional, monitored anesthesia care), and manage patient recovery. \n
- Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission standards and applicable professional guidelines. \n
- Deliver services in multiple departments, including but not limited to: general surgery, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, gastrointestinal procedures, urology, and outpatient surgical units. \n
- Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and clinical rounds when required. \n
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the VA's electronic health record system (CPRS/Vista). \n
- Adhere to MEDVAMC scheduling policies, including rotating shifts, night/weekend coverage, and holiday assignments, as required. \n
